We're getting ready for wedding season...I promise!

This weekend I'm meeting with 3 of my booked couples to start planning their summer marriage ceremonies. Eeeeek exciting...I can't wait to start talking and being curious and crafting words to suit their needs.

Sculpture Northland artist, Rod Cunliffe.

Rod has always been interested in Art with its ability to uplift the spirit, inspire, and communicate. His interest in pottery also started at an early age, but the opportunity to master wheel-throwing and hand-building skills only became a reality when Rod came to New Zealand in 2007. His larger ceramic projects often include wood and metal, combining the inherent strengths and beauty of each material, and allowing Art to dominate the laws of Physics. David Hockney put it better: “Art has to move you and design does not, unless it's a good design for a bus”. Over the last 3-4 years, Rod has found working with copper to be most rewarding because of its adaptability and the range of colours which develop over time. He now moves freely between mediums, pushing possibilities.

See Rod's work and much more at Sculpture Northland 7 - 11th May at Whangarei Quarry Gardens.
