🌟 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 – 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮̄𝗿𝗲𝗶 (𝗦𝗮𝘁, 𝟴 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱)

🏁 Competitors will head west out of Whangārei and take on an exhilarating series of 8 new gravel stages around 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 & 𝗥𝘂𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗶. Some of these roads were in the NZ round of the WRC going back a few years, with SS1 / SS8 being brand new to IROW.

Late afternoon the iconic 𝗣𝗼𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 will have two dazzling runs in front of the crowd, complete with tight turns, live commentary, and food trucks. It is starting this year in the service park with the finish thru the chicane and a stop control at the start of the bridge.

🛠Then its off to the end of day service and the finish for some, or parc ferme for others.

The International Rally of Whangarei is just around the corner (well November), and we’re calling on passionate motorsport fans to join our team as Spectator Marshals.

This is your chance to:

✅ Help keep rally fans safe
✅ Be part of one of National Rally Championship

No prior experience needed — full training will be provided. All you need is enthusiasm, reliability, and a love of rallying!

📢𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴ā𝗿𝗲𝗶.

Highlights of the 2025 Rally Route:
✅More than 280km of competitive stages, over two days of action-packed stages
✅Many returning special stages, showcasing untapped Northland gravel roads
✅A reworked Saturday leg with longer loops and new roads
✅Fan-friendly spectator zones with improved access and viewing points
✅The Sunday legs goes south to some amazing old RNZ roads, not used for many years.

👏A massive thanks to all our 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀 at IROW24, the event was a success due to your dedication and massive efforts over the weekend. Thanks for believing in us and being part of our event.

👏To you our 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗪 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, wow, you all dug in and produced an amazing event with early starts, long drives and the heat, wow was it hot. There were some incredible efforts over the weekend. 𝗕𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂!!

After a tough Day One, the cars are heading out now for the first loop of 4 stages south of Whangarei. Once completed, they are in for service and then back out for the last loop for 3 stages.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗯𝘀!!

Then the rally finish is at Pohe Island Service Park at approx. 1530. You are welcome to come and see the winners, the cars and the spraying of the celebratory champagne.

Our Story

The 2019 International Rally of Whangarei takes place from 3 - 5 May and uses roads in the Far North and Whangarei districts. Now in its thirteenth consecutive year it counts as round 2 of the FIA APRC and the NZRC.
