Just wanted to say a massive thanks to everyone who made our show on Saturday so amazing! An absolutely brilliant set from the man himself! A wonderful vibe on a dancefloor pretty much packed from 9pm till close. Smiles everywhere. A big thanks also to Ev and the crew. That was some party!

🙏 More quality acts coming soon...

returns to Strange Behaviour with his most accomplished work yet. Sitting slightly adjacent to the dancefloor, these new productions are packed with intricate detail, haunting vocals and mind altering programming.

Latch Keys has evolved over the last year into a rhythm based exploration of layered patterns and heavy sonic manipulation. Think something along the lines DJ Plead or Cousin’s deeper moments.

While the ever evolving Evaporate slowly erupts into an epic of cascading drums, complete with bleeps and pulses and what sounds like a Cocteau Twins sample, reminding us of Roxymore’s ability to blend musique concrete with ambient and techno infused sounds.

Finding the precise balance between beats and abstraction, we’re sure you’ll love this release as much as we do.

Written and produced by Jerry Watts

Latch Keys mixed by Jackie Jenkins
Mastered by Ike Zwanikken

On support duties for at on Saturday are two of Nelson’s biggest vinyl hoarders - Dj B lo & Sam Reynolds.

Thankfully they've also got reasonable taste, and you can expect a vibrant selection of floaty bangers and deep dancefloor nuggets before Mr Booker brings it home.

returns to Strange Behaviour with a beautifully evocative live performance featuring Emmy-award winning composer recorded live at Webb’s gallery in Pōneke to accompany ’sTuri exhibition, For How Long…

Friends and collaborators for several years, Turi helped create the distinctive Warhol referencing artwork for John’s band The Hairy Lollies back in 2013, applying a dose of Kiwiana via Watties tinned fruit, then subverting it with the exotic and suggestive Rambutan fruit.

They’ve remained close since, and with Turi’s new exhibition influenced by his family home on the shores of Lake Rotoiti, near Rotorua, John’s beautifully constructed soundscapes were the ideal companion.

Turi sent John phone recordings of early morning birdsong from the lake, as well as the sounds of people splashing around and diving into the water. As is the process with Box of Hammers, John then built these sounds into an improvised performance of delayed guitars and layered effects, inviting another ex-Hairy Lollies member, Stephen Gallagher to add synths and programmed drums.

The result is the sort of extended piece you can get lost in. Ever changing, totally exotic, awash with truly beautiful sounds. Imagine Bitchin Bajas collaborating with Tangerine Dream under tree ferns on a pebbled volcanic shore - the music lush, complex, and ultimately rewarding.

Recorded live to multitrack at Webb’s gallery on 17 April 2026.

John Kingston: Guitar
Stephen Gallagher: Synthesizers, drum machine
Turi Park: Field recordings

Mix and edit by Stephen Gallagher

Strange Behaviour is excited to share Play Fighting, the latest work of Te Whanganui a Tara based sound designer and composer,

Balanced between the club and home listening environment, Play Fighting draws influence from the likes of Four Tet and Djrum - experimental in structure, adjacent to big room sonics, but more than capable of approaching the dancefloor.

HOMINID is the musical project of Benny Jennings, an artist whose previous work we’ve much admired. Play Fighting pushes his aesthetic forward, delicate textures meeting wild flourishes, club dynamics brushed with soft touches. This is music that sits between worlds. Happy as a messenger to both.

HOMINID and Strange Behaviour welcome you to an immersive journey, sit back, open up and say aah.
