Taking a moment for Rosie and this entrance. The stonework is beautiful on its own, so we love that the styling here is relatively understated. A handful of candles in glass hurricane vases adds a little warmth along the staircase without covering up the character of the building.

Planning an outdoor wedding in Queenstown? Let's talk chairs.
They're probably not the first thing on your wedding mood board, but there's a little more to ceremony seating than choosing a style you like.

You'll want to think about the ground surface, how level the area is, whether there's enough room between rows, and how easily guests can get to their seats.

And don't forget to consider where the sun will be during your ceremony. Nobody wants to spend 30 minutes squinting through the vows.

Our advice? Have a proper look at your ceremony location before finalising your furniture hire. A beautiful setting is a great start, but it needs to work for the people sitting in it too. 🤍

Flowers are usually one of the bigger investments in wedding styling, so it's worth giving some thought to how you'll display them.

And we're not just talking about choosing a pretty vase.

Plinths and pedestals can give arrangements extra height, create interesting groupings and help you position flowers in places where they might otherwise get lost.

We particularly love using different heights together, as pictured here. It's a lovely way to give your florist more freedom to play with the arrangement.

Wedding styling tip: before you sign off your reception setup, sit down.
Literally.

A room can look completely different from a guest’s chair than it does standing up. Check whether centrepieces block conversation, whether guests can actually see the speeches, and whether there’s enough room around each place setting once the glassware is down.

It’s a very simple check, but a useful one before everyone takes their seats.

From a distance, they almost disappear into the setup, which is pretty handy when Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables are sitting right behind you.
