We are excited to open up Registrations for the upcoming and coming Grace Thompson Memorial Trophy Summer Hockey Comepetition to be played in term 4.
This is a significant event that we hold yearly to remember the beautiful and hockey loving Grace.
Grace began playing hockey as a student at Terrace. She was a kind, sweet-natured girl who loved being part of a team and always embraced the spirit of participation.
Passionate about sport, Grace was eager to try anything and gave her best no matter the challenge.
Winning or losing never mattered much to her-what she truly valued was being involved and supporting her teammates. She always displayed remarkable sportsmanship and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Grace enjoyed a wide range of sports, including triathlon, road cycling, horse riding, and of course, hockey.
As a family of 5, for the Thompsons, hockey was a central part of their life. They enjoyed watching, playing, coaching, and also managing hockey.
Unfortunately in early 2018, Grace was diagnosed with a very rare cancer. She fought a massive battle for seven months before sadly losing that battle and passing away in October of that year.
This competition is a beautiful tribute to the spirit and sportsmanship Grace embodied and the lasting legacy she left behind.
