Another great week of hockey done and dusted. The draw for the kwik sticks round two is being finalised now, if it’s not already up it will be shortly.

For those who are interested, the Black Sticks have games coming up which will be on TVNZ+, here are the times- womens games will be live on TVNZ+.

Our Men’s pool match times are:

Saturday 13 June vs Scotland, 5:00am (NZT)
Monday 15 June vs Korea, 3:00am (NZT)
Tuesday 16 June vs Malaysia, 10:15pm (NZT – LIVE on TVNZ+)
Thursday 18 June vs Japan, 5:00am (NZT)

Our women’s pool matches are all locked in for a 6:00pm start.

Don't miss out! We have a large number of registrations already, and we need to enter our teams. ALL registrations need to be completed by Sunday 24th May (9.00pm). We have our second muster on Sunday, from 10.30-12.00pm. Please ensure your child is ready to go for the 10.30am start. WE NEED YOU! With the large numbers registered we are also looking to confirm coaches and managers for each of the teams. Are you keen? We have coaches who are willing to help you out, so you won't be on your own.

Today’s muster was a massive success! We had almost 40 kids take part, meet new people, practise some skills, and everyone had an awesome time! Looking forward to next weekends muster, come along- Sunday 10:30-12!

Please note that due to Ngati Whai Festival on Thursday 2nd July, there will be NO Hockey this day. (Last week of term.) This is Fun Sticks, Mini Sticks and Kiwi Sticks.

Hawke's Bay Big Save Festival - 15-17 July
A friendly reminder about Big Save Festival which is being held in the second week of the school holidays. Schools are able to enter their own teams into this through Hawkes Bay Hockey.
If you do not wish to enter your own teams, but have students who are interested in playing in this fun festival, we are hosting a Hockey Muster this Sunday and Next Sunday at the Centralines Sports Park in Waipukurau. Flyer attached also. Practices will be held on a Monday. There will be a cost involved in entering this festival, which will be confirmed once teams are decided.

Who - open to all interested Yr 5/6 and 7/8 students
Where - Centralines Hockey Turf, Waipukurau
When - Sunday 17 May - 1.30pm- 3.00pm
Sunday 24 May - 10.30m - 12.00pm
What to bring - Hockey sticks, mouth guards, shin pads, water bottle, enthusiasm 😃

Afternoon all, what a great day to continue our kwik sticks games!

Just wanted to let you know you can sync your childrens games to your phone. Find their grade on playHQ, then click sync to calendar, find your team and follow your nose. Photos below to help.

Wow, what a fantastic, energetic start to the hockey season. We have an amazing number of children engaged in hockey this year which is great to see.

Just a few housekeeping things. The kids are not allowed to play/practise on the netball courts please. Also, can we have no little ones on the turf or sitting on the fences, this is for safety reasons.
Can the last teams playing please remind behind to help pack up, it will only take a few minutes if we all pitch in.

Hopefully everyone has found the draw on playHQ ok to use. We look forward to more great hockey next week.

Wednesday umpires your 2nd session is at 6.00pm tonight, in the meeting room at the pools
If your child is umpiring tomorrow there will be another meeting tomorrow evening, starting at 6.30pm.

Big Save Festival 2026 is back!!

Time to put these dates in your diary and start sorting your teams for our annual kids festival happening in the July holidays.

More information and registration will be coming out early May so stay tuned!
