Ha here’s another ‘flower’ photo (as my husband says ;) .. for me these flowers symbolise love, hope, patience, hope, joy, time, connection, memories, an appreciation for & caring for the land, mediation, remembrance, peace and grounding.
Yes, that’s a whole lot of meaning in one picture! These beauties came from my garden, all grown from seed all little miracles.
As I was tending to our garden today I paused at these beauties and thought of my late grandma and her always having a beautiful flower garden. And my late grandad with his big veggie garden in Tītahi Bay that fed the family, his freshly dug new potatoes on our Christmas Day and silverbeet most nights on the dinner plate.
When I’m out in my garden I think of my grandparents as the garden was their happy place and now mine too. As my grandma had a Daphne (her name) plant close to the door & lavender . One of her favourite flowers ‘freesias’ about to be planted (she loved their scent). A Montana’ plant to remind me of my Grandads favourite place in the world. A newly bought guardian gold hibiscus to remind me of the far north where I whakapapa to and significant meaning for me.
My loved ones never feel too far away.. I remember like yesterday Grandma singing along to this song.
We can also keep the memories alive ❤️
