For those of you that know me,
You know I LOVE spring!!!
Especially here at Jakar Gardens!!
I love the flowers, the smell, the color and the promise of new life - from the end of September right through to late November! Best part is always mid October to mid November - no matter the seasonal weather!!!!
Every year, it's given me so much excitement and energy!
This 2026 spring is bitter sweet.
The fact I'm still here and able to enjoy it - one last time. (hopefully)
I'm MENTALLY going through the;
" Bitter sweet".
Because, as much as I'm grateful to be smelling the beautiful smells, and appreciating the flowers and all the prettiness and new beginnings that Spring always delivers.
I'm also aware that I'm not enjoying it like I use to.
Because... well...
Both hubby and I would struggle to keep up with the gardens when the two of us had full time jobs (since covid times)...
This year, now, it's just me. Trying to keep up, and failing!
And I've always been known to be "fastidious"...( like - add a few. !!!!!!!!!!!!!)
With spring having sprung, so very quickly, I find myself on a hamster wheel and not quite keeping up!!
It is also making me realize, that not just any person can take over this place!
It's too unique!!!!
We need another "Maria and Terry"!!!!
I am continually missing my husband, in so many ways, that very few will understand.
My hope is, that soon, someone finds our property and sees the blood, sweat, tears and LOVE that has gone into this property, and they know in their bones, that they're ready to "Take the torch "!!
In my husband's honor, I won't settle for anything less
