"Mash catered our Dunedin wedding in March 2025 and were absolutely incredible. We went with the catering package 3 which has canapés, 2 meats, 2 sides, 2 salads and a dessert. Everything ran smoothly from their set up and arrival, to the food and service. We had guests messaging us for weeks after the wedding letting us know how much they loved the food, and also how much there was! The staff were extremely professional and really made it feel easy for us, and that they had everything under control. We would highly recommend Mash to anyone who was looking for a caterer."

Congratulations Nathan, Robyn & the team at Uppercuts Butchery, Winton. We’re proud to support the best butcher in Southland! 👏👊👏

Well well well look what your little ole Winton Butchery has done again.
Robyn and Nathan attended the NZ Bacon and Ham awards last night and picked up two medals!
Bronze in the Dry Cured Loin Bacon and GOLD in the flavoured section with his Rib Rocker Dry Cured Loin Bacon.

In all seriousness Nathan works so dam hard and still managed to find time to put in ten entries this year.
He has a flair for creativity and knows what makes a great product. He's a great boss and from all the staff at Uppercuts well done we're so proud!

We recently got asked what a MASH-style treat looks like after a huge day or week feeding the masses, and we’ve got the perfect answer: a trip to our two favourite spots! On our days off, you’ll find us at Beachhouse Restaurant in Riverton or Hayz At The Anchorage in Bluff – our go-to spots when we’re off duty. It’s always nice being looked after for a change, and let’s be honest – the food is always yum. 😋
At The Beachhouse, we’re all about the Clam Linguine, Salt & Pepper Squid, and the tough decision between the Seafood Chowder or Blue Cod. Be sure to stop by and let Scott & Tracy treat you to something special over the next month!
At Hayz at The Anchorage, we’re slowly working our way through the menu, but you really can’t go past the Paua Wontons, Paua Burger, Salt & Pepper Squid Salad, and Rakiura Green Lipped Mussels. Hayz and the team deliver top-notch Southern hospitality with dishes that match.

We’re rolling in hot for the SBS Bank Southland Stags’ first Bunnings NPC clash – going head-to-head with old rivals Otago. The mission? 10,000 fans packing the stands and a maroon sea roaring the boys home!

Our team often hears snippets of the wild history that’s shaped MASH into what it is today - many of those tales remain untold… and some probably need to stay on tour where they belong 😂

This week, we’re cracking open one of our favourites:
Mat’s Cookbook Collection - A culinary journey across continents and decades.
It all began humbly in Otautau, with Mum Heather’s well-loved kitchen favourites - recipes still inspiring MASH Catering menus to this day.
From there, the collection grew with every stop along the way:
📍 Wellington’s Paradiso days (check out the price of the mains!)
📍 Royal NZ Navy expeditions to Antarctica
📍 Rock and roll tour catering through the UK and Europe
📍 Adventures across the USA

Plus the most memorable meal of all? Dining at Paul Bocuse’s iconic restaurant in Lyon… with Neil Young, between tours.
