Vegetarian baked stuffed buttercup pumpkin = $10 dinner for Sunday night. Grilled mussel gratin tonight, BBQ spatchcock chicken tomorrow night.

Picked up these beauties in Auckland to match the charcoal kitchen and scullery (of course) and the Breville smart toaster is a winner. Always been a Breville fan, as my kitchen attests. 👌

In the past 10 days…

Mouldy gluten free bread…
(expensive)

Mouldy strawberries… (disappointing)

Slimy cooked chicken… (dangerous)

Food prices have never been higher yet the quality (I’ve heard others complaining of this also) seems to have dropped. When I brought this up with the retailer I was told I should check my purchases more carefully. I said whilst I usually do I do not expect mouldy food on the shelves. Either the staff are not doing their job properly or the retailer doesn’t care enough or maybe they think they can get away with it.

Call them out, take it back (or in my case photographic evidence) and hold them accountable to standards because it’s too expensive to be your loss.
