Shop Local small business appreciation post!

This town is full of amazing and unique small businesses run by fabulous local people passionate about what they do and how they do it!

Here's a few of our favorites, show them some ❤️ this winter and they'll still be around come summer...

Amazing glassware by Jenny McLeod Glass, ridiculously good unashamedly waist expanding sweet treats from Clares Cake Design, the best coffees in town always from the Grahamstown Coffee Shack, beautiful top quality clothing by an awesome Thames Coast designer label at Huia Design Store, stunning artworks by oh-so-talented local artists at Vessel Art Thames, simply the best flowers and vases from the Grahamstown Flower Merchant and all the bargains every week at the Thames Market - Every Saturday !

Our Daffodil Day appeal has started at Grahamstown Flower Merchant 💛
From today until the 29th of August come in and make a $2 donation, paint a Daffodil on our very large canvas/window and go into the draw to win a beautiful bouquet 💐 (drawn and winner announced Friday 29th August Daffodil Day)
We are off to a good start with the lovely Katie and Hannah getting creative this afternoon ☺️
We hope to have a wonderful art piece by the end of the month, and a lucky entrant winning a some flowers, along with all the proceeds to the Cancer Society NZ

The last couple of bouquets to head out with those beautiful ‘Barista’ Roses and pretty Proteas, along with others interesting foliages, textures and colour palettes. It has been a treat and am looking forward to what next weeks flower goodies will bring. I tend to buy with my heart, and work through combinations of colour of forms that the stunning seasonal blooms inspire.

Protea appreciation post.. These South African native blooms grow really well in Aotearoa New Zealand and are such a beautiful and unusual flower. We have a selection of these in store now at GFM
