One part of weddings that I don't often speak about is how much I absolutely love getting to see the vision unfold. From our first chat to the back-and-forth messages, phone calls, and emails, the day finally arrives and I get to see the bride and her gals getting ready for the day as I drop the bouquets off before heading to the venue.
Every venue blows me away when I arrive, no matter how many times I have been there. The other vendors arrive, you smell the food cooking, see the wedding cake arrive, see all the little details that the couple has told you about while we get to add the final touches with the florals. Usually, the groom and his men will turn up at some point for a chat; we meet many family and friends who are helping with set-ups and hear lots of great stories, all before sneaking out before the guests arrive and the wedding kicks off. It's such a privilege to work alongside amazing couples and see their beautiful days come to life.

This photo was one of the last weddings for the 2024/2025 season, and it was such a breathtaking wedding to be asked to do the florals for and an amazing couple to work alongside.

Florals on point 👌

Fun fact: Originally I trained and worked as an Operations and Events Manager working between Rotorua, Taupo and Auckland doing mainly corporate events and weddings which I loved at the time. When I opened Sylvia's Summer I said I would 100% not do any weddings and said no to many until a super fun bride approached me and I couldn't help but say yes, her wedding was the start of the wedding floral obsession.

This week we planned a surprise party at mine for a friend, I do love having creative freedom when it comes to not only flowers but the full tablescape.
Mrs Wilson who I use for all our signwriting and as a extra set of hands for bigger events was amongst the setup, creating these cute personalised bows for the wine glasses, tables and cake.

Regardless if your having a small or large wedding, a baby shower, hens party or just a beautiful lunch or dinner with friends. We would love to chat about creating the perfect tablescape for your event.
