Sadly we had a morepork hit our window the other night! I didn’t realise until I opened the window and saw it dead in the garden. I thought my cat must of left the mark on the window until I looked closely and saw all the detail of the morepork on the window! Even the claws below. Oh my heart! I adore moreporks and always enjoy listening to them in the reserve next door at night calling out. Felt so sad and now I can’t bring myself to wash my window. Maybe the forecasted rain will do it for me!🥲

Hope everyone has had a lovely relaxing Easter and eaten lots of Easter treats! My treat for Easter is still being able to pick white dahlias and white gardenias from the garden. Sadly they are coming to an end for another season so have to make the most of them while they are still around! Ants unfortunately feel the same way about them! As I always have to immerse the flowers in water to get rid of them before placing them on the table. However they do less damage than a caterpillar so for that I am grateful 🥰

These stunning tulips are the last from my garden for the season. What a grand finale they are! The tallest being aprox a half a metre tall! Such a lovely surprise as I had no idea when I was kindly given bulbs from my gorgeous neighbour what sort of tulips they would be! I have so enjoyed watching them come out! Feeling blessed! Faithfully each year this row of irises come up in my picking garden allowing me to pick a huge amount of flowers to share with many friends, family and today hospice. They are such great value as they have two flowers, when the first one dies off another one opens to takes its place! How clever is nature!
