I am a mum of two and have been studying photography for awhile. My reason for doing this is after two very different births I realised that as a mum when you are in that zone and doing your thing you very seldom actually remember much and therefore don't really get to properly experience the unbelievable life changing journey of giving birth. I feel that as a society we are bred to fear giving bi

rth which I experienced with my first and was completely terrified of what was to come. We should celebrate and look forward to the amazing gift we have as women to be able to perform this complete miracle in bringing new life into this world and I would just be completely humbled and honoured to capture this journey & ceremony for parents in the future. Birth should be celebrated and women should feel empowered as they embark on this incredible achievement. It is an opportunity for a mum to experience this day from other perspectives. It might be the way her husband/partner is rubbing her back or looking into the eyes of his newborn baby for the first time. It may be the way her mum is gently stroking her neck or even her babies first breath as his eyes crumple up for his first cry. These things we miss very easily when we are giving or have just given birth. And they happen in an instant. I want to capture these moments for these incredible women to treasure forever as this day and the emotion we feel as parents can never be repeated. It is the first day of a baby's life and being at the focus of such a powerful love brings incredibly special moments which can never be re-enacted.

Imagine if our culture told us that birth was one of the greatest things a women might ever do. Imagine if the stories and images we were exposed to taught us that labor is an incredible and transformational experience. A rite of passage into motherhood

This is the face of a super mum who just had the birth she dreamed of finally meeting her sweet little boy!
This is probably my favourite time of the birth journey when I get to see the sweet relief on those strong mothers faces with their reward in their arms ❤️

This beautiful mumma also happens to be my little sister so to say that I am proud of her is almost an understatement 🥰

Had to share this one first when I saw Dad & baby boy ‘holding hands’ too... so cute!
