We're proud to be a place where stories of Aotearoa come to life; and over the coming months, three powerful shows rooted in te ao Māori will take centre stage:

🌟 Matariki Glow Show – A magical, giant-scale glow-in-the-dark puppet show that celebrates the Māori New Year and inspires tamariki through storytelling.

🦀 Moanarao – Guardian of the Crabs – Presented by Tauranga Intermediate, you'll go on a journey through myth and marine magic, told through the eyes of a young Māori hero.

🕊️ Te Tangi a Te Tūī – A breathtaking blend of kapa haka, theatre, and music that explores identity, resilience, and the echo of the natural world.

Located in the heart of downtown Tauranga, Baycourt Community & Arts Centre is the Bay of Plenty’s premier performing arts facility. There are three objectives particularly close to our hearts at Baycourt: celebrating the arts in all its forms; nurturing present, past and future generations of artists and performers; and presenting our patrons with the very best shows on offer in a venue we can all be proud of.

Our multi-purpose performing arts and events complex provides a variety of spaces for our local community, as well as visiting national and international acts. We can host groups and events of all sizes, from small gatherings to major professional productions.

At the heart of Baycourt’s operation is the Addison Theatre. For more than three decades countless performers have graced its stage and infused the floorboards with their passion and love for performance. From primary school students to octogenarians and international acts; performing on the Addison Theatre stage is an experience that remains with you for life.
