Yup - just like petrol ⛽️ , butter 🧈 and pretty much life in general, the cost of getting married is going up 📈. The increases outlined below relate to the fees charged by the Department of Internal Affairs for the administrative cost of getting married in NZ. (Read: nothing to do with the celebrant!)

💡A little bit of good news (for some at least)… If you’re getting married before 15 September 2026, you can avoid these price rises by applying - and paying the current fee - by 17 June (as long as it’s not more than 90 days before your wedding).

The prices for most births, deaths, marriages and relationships products and services will increase from 18 June.

🎤 SAY WHAT? 🎤

Not many people know but one of the services I offer is speech crafting and coaching. It’s perfect for those who have to speak at an event but don’t love being in front of a microphone. 🙊

Which is why I’m super proud of the beautiful Tas and her Dad, both of whom enlisted my help when they were asked to speak at a family member’s wedding. Together we created two stunning speeches and worked through how to deliver them with poise, confidence and flair.

And the photos from the day don’t lie. Tas shone in the spotlight like the star she is 🌟
