And that's a wrap! The end of another amazing wedding season here at Summer House Weddings & Events.
Congratulations to our amazing couples and thanks so much for trusting in me to have your special day here. Each and every one will be treasured as special memories of the most smoking hot season!
A special thanks to my amazing team - Debbie & Steph on the bar and my right hand wing woman Shavaurn. I could not have done it without you all. You made it fun and enjoyable and I am forever grateful for that.
To our vendors... I truly believe it takes a team of professionals to create dreams. I am blessed to have worked with you all but especially to Jed and his amazing team at Food by Wild Wood Fire whom was a regular here this season. It was a polished effort and we loved every minute of it (still not sick of peanut satay pizza though!)
Sadly this is the end of Summer House Weddings & Events for now. The property has sold (with a lot of sadness but also some excitement as I venture into the future on my own 2 feet).
The last 6 years here have been the best. 21 weddings, corporate functions, high teas, bridal parties, baby showers, garden visits and more. A heck of a lot of love and happiness was created in this place and will always be a special part of my life.
So watch this space as the new chapter unfolds... I don't know what it looks like yet but I'm excited to step forward and let it unravel.

It’s hard to get perspective of this mammoth of a cake. It was huge! But the top layer was banana salted caramel goodness! Felt flowers by Oh Em Gee and I do love orange!

Hip hip horay they finally got their beautiful day! Set backs venue changes mandates and even the new venue owner breaking an ankle and leg wasn’t going to stop this love match from happening! So glad you got to enjoy your special day. These photos are simply stunning.

I think I died and went to cupcake heaven! Our lovely Marc and Rachael had this stunning cake on Saturday thanks to Spongedrop! 3 flavours chocolate, lemon and carrot cake!

When Mother Nature decides its time to fall down!
Timing before Saturday’s wedding and getting an arborist who doesn’t have covid atm has been a challenge. Pray for Friday fixup unless Mother Nature decides she wants the rest to come down on her own!
No harm to the arch or kauri tree!
Any local brides/florists wanting free fresh green gum leaves? Let me know as I’ve got a 40 year old tree full!

What you don’t see in the day to day of our industry social media accounts is how every single vendor in the wedding and events industry is hustling hard right now. We are working with postponements, cancellations and situations we never imagined still dealing with. We are also managing skeleton staff due to large amounts in isolation, including on site and office staff. So please be kind. If your delivery staff are new, please know they are doing their best. If your email isn’t immediately replied to, please know we are covering more than one job, and if the job process looks a little different, please know we are hustling behind the scenes to deal with situations so far beyond our control. Our industry has been hit incredibly hard, and we feel it’s part of our job here to let you know how incredibly hard every vendor is working behind closed doors to survive.
