When nature does all the heavy lifting 🌸

I’m really loving simple, petite, en masse bouquets at the moment. These pink champagne chrysanthemums were picked straight from my garden, and honestly, I barely had to arrange them. They looked so beautiful gathering in my hand as I snipped their wonky stems from the plant. (Swipe to the end to see said wonky stems)

I added a string of pearls for a touch of luxe and voilà ✨ a bridal bouquet.

And paired with this gorgeous Lee Bee Bride gown? Perfection 🤍

Modern styling meets meaningful tradition 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

Georgia and Nasoni were an absolute dream to work with - so happy, so kind, and so trusting throughout the entire planning process and on the wedding day itself.

Their ceremony combined contemporary mirrored plinths and all-white florals with a special tapa cloth, creating a beautiful blend of modern elegance and family tradition.

10/10 couple.
10/10 florals.
10/10 wedding day.

I set myself a challenge to do a drawing a day for the month of May. (Or a painting. Or a scribble.)

What I didn’t expect was how intimidating a blank white page could be. 🫪

I wanted to do this as a way to be more creative and spend less time on my phone. A healthier way to wind down in the evenings, or whenever I was feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or stuck in a creative rut.

The hardest part was often just starting. I’d sit there wondering what to draw, or worrying about getting it wrong. I’ve always loved ‘s 5-minute flower tutorials, but I also wanted and to experiment with different mediums and subjects. And then popped up in my fyp, and she’s been a great source of inspiration when I needed new ideas and a push to think differently.

Then I came across a post from .store :

“W̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶i̶f̶ ̶I̶’̶m̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶g̶o̶o̶d̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶?
What if I relax and have fun?”

And that is exactly what I needed to read.

I didn’t quite manage a drawing every day in May, so I added a few extras in June 🙈 I’ve remembered how much joy there is in creating just for the sake of creating, so I’m going to keep going until I fill this sketchbook. ✏️😮‍💨

Apparently when Tess first started planning her wedding, she didn’t really want many flowers at all 😅 was originally going to tackle it solo, but as the big day got closer the floral requests kept growing… so Brenda brought me on board to help bring it all to life.

And honestly, we had the best time creating abundant, basket-filled arrangements to scatter alllll around the venue ✨

For Tess’ bouquet, we kept things chic and minimal, and the pearl detail to tie in with her veil and jewellery was just 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘧’𝘴 𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘴 🤌🏼

And that last photo? Marg in one hand, bouquet in the other… absolute elite energy 🍸

Amaranthus has definitely been one of the 𝘪𝘵 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 of the season 💅🏼

Textural, dramatic, a little weird… and apparently very eager to grow wherever she can.

After a wedding a few weeks ago, I had a bucket of flower scraps tip over in the boot of my car on the drive home. I cleaned most of it up and thought nothing of it… until about a week later when I noticed little amaranthus seedlings happily sprouting out of the crack in the tailgate 🌱

Since then I’ve started spotting it growing through cracks in concrete too, which honestly feels very fitting for a flower having such a moment right now. She clearly knows she’s the it girl 😂

I need to know, are you into amaranthus or do you think she’s a bit strange 👀
