We’re excited to announce that we’ve been given the opportunity to take over the Under 21 (no weight limit) & Under 85kg combined team (if you’re over 21, you need to be under 85kg) entering the BOP competition! 🏉

Our very own Henare Leach will be leading the team as head coach! We kicked things off with a promising training last night with a positive turnout. But we’re still looking for a few more passionate players to join the squad! 🙌

If you’re keen to get involved, come along to training this Thursday at 6pm. Whether you’re new to the sport or have experience, everyone is welcome!

To Taupo Rugby and Sports Members, Supporters and Sponsors:

This morning the decision was made to not enter our Senior Premier Team into this year’s King Country Competition. This is due to a lack of players to form a team, with some retirements and defections to other clubs the numbers were just too minimal to carry on so the hard decision had to be made which was not easy.

Taupo Rugby and Sports has been a thriving and consistently competitive club over the last 12 to 15 years and goes back over 70 years, with 6 Premiership titles in the last 10 years.

This is not the end of our proud club at all as the Junior program is looking good with maybe up to 16 teams , a recently refurbished Clubrooms, a pro active committee and lots of great supporters and loyal sponsors of whom I will be in contact with soon.
