The Black Barn, Lake Tarawera Unique country style setting suitable for weddings and other functions. This traditional style barn was renovated for our own wedding in March 2012.

We loved the setting so much we felt the need to share it with others! Set high up on our farm in a private location surrounded by native tree's, birdlife, and farm animals with supreme views overlooking all of Lake and Mount Tarawera. The barn itself can seat up to 150 guests, while outside features include landscaped native gardens, a fire pit, large deck and extensive outdoor lighting revealing

the beautiful bush setting by night. Use of this facility is by invite only, so please feel free to contact us, Glenn & Shelley Barbour, for further details.

Winter at The Black Barn, Lake Tarawera ✨

We are beyond excited to let you know that our calendar is now open for winter weddings and events!!! Honestly, we think this might be the most magical season of all.

Think crisp, clear days by the lake… soft golden sunsets… long, lingering lunches that turn into cosy evenings by the fire.

We’re picturing layered tablescapes, rich seasonal menus with our partners & an early marshmallow by the first, mulled wine in hand.

If you’ve been dreaming of a wedding that feels a little different - a little more relaxed, a little more atmospheric, winter at The Black Barn might be exactly it.
