A warm welcome to our newest QWA members, Lauren + Claudia | Union Elopement Photography 🤍

Sisters, locals and lovers of doing things a little differently, Lauren and Claudia bring together wedding planning, photography and a genuine love for this extraordinary corner of Aotearoa.

Union is all about adventurous unions and tiny weddings that put the experience first - less rigid itineraries and wedding rules, more celebrating in a way that actually feels like you.

Sustainability sits at the heart of what they do too, with a thoughtful approach to every celebration and 5% of every booking donated to kaitiakitanga causes.

Lauren is also a certified celebrant, which means their couples can bring planning, photography and officiating together for one beautifully personal adventure.

We’re so happy to welcome Union to the QWA community.

A little look back at our AGM + Creative Connections evening 🤍

Queenstown Weddings Association is a not-for-profit organisation, run by a committee of local wedding professionals who generously volunteer their time alongside running their own businesses.

So while the AGM is an important part of what we do, evenings like this are also about the bigger picture: bringing our local wedding community together, sharing knowledge, making connections and supporting one another.

Last Thursday was such a lovely evening of all of the above. We gathered for our AGM before enjoying a Creative Connections workshop, where we learnt, chatted, created dried flower bouquets, enjoyed delicious food and, of course, a few bubbles along the way 🥂

A huge thank you to Claire from Tahuna and Emily from Emily Plum Makeup for sharing your time and knowledge with us, and to Ella for organising such a beautiful evening.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Queenstown Catering | Winehouse for donating the bubbles, OJ and beautiful platter, and to Relax It’s Done for generously allowing us to use one of their homes for the evening and donating the w**e. 🤍

QWA is built by our local wedding community, for our local wedding community, and we’re so grateful to everyone who contributes their time, energy and expertise to make it what it is.

Community, connection and collaboration. That’s what QWA is all about. 🤍

We love seeing our QWA members working alongside each other, and Georgia & Bas’ beautiful day brought together quite the local team.

The weather kept everyone on their toes, but that’s Queenstown - and with an experienced crew behind you, you can simply embrace it.

Windblown hair, a few quiet moments between the wild weather, plenty of laughter, and two people taking it all in.

A little winter magic while Queenstown springtime is giving us plenty of rain 🤍

Abbey & Sean well and truly hit the winter wedding jackpot - fresh snow, clear skies and the most beautiful sunset.

The catch? A rather chilly -10°C. But when the mountains look like this, we think it might just be worth it.

Queenstown weather loves to keep us guessing, and sometimes it delivers something pretty spectacular.

Brenna & Taylor 🤍

Refined, relaxed and full of flavour - exactly how an Otago wedding should feel.

Set against the mountain views of Lookout Lodge, their day was designed around good food, generous hospitality and plenty of time to simply enjoy being together.

Antipasto and canapés flowed into sliders and a generous dinner, while bubbles, bespoke cocktails and a very popular round (or two) of espresso martinis kept the celebrations going.

Beautiful without feeling overly formal, and thoughtfully considered without losing that relaxed feeling.

A pretty perfect way to celebrate in Queenstown.
