A little cut flower garden update for you all!
Right now, things look pretty quiet out in the garden, but over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been busy getting everything ready for a massive spring. I’ve officially tucked over 500 new corms and bulbs into the ground as well as a few hundred from last season! Ranunculus, irises, anemones, and freesias all tucked in and waiting to do their thing. Our daffodil bulbs stayed in the ground, and they are already starting to pop through! All of these will be ready around September/October and I cannot wait!
Things are going to look a little different this year. You might notice tulips are missing from the list. As gorgeous as they are, they’re a “one and done” bloom, so I’m putting my energy into varieties that just keep on giving.
I have a rather large list of gorgeous blooms that I’ll be growing this coming season, some new ones and some favourites from previous seasons.
The dahlias are dying back now, and I’ll be lifting the tubers soon to make room for more chrysanthemums this summer. I’ll still have plenty of dahlias for all my fellow dahlia lovers, but chrysanthemums have such an incredible vase life and a special place in my heart, and I always want to ensure you get your absolute moneys worth when you buy from me.
Now that Evie is a bit older and all these beautiful spring blooms are officially in the ground, I’m thinking about bringing back our flower subscription program for spring and summer! I decided not to do it last year, but I’d love to know if you guys be keen to have fresh, homegrown blooms delivered regularly throughout spring & summer?
I have some huge goals in the works. I’m keeping the exact details close to my heart for now (gotta keep a few secrets under wraps with watchful eyes around!), but let’s just say it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. Keep an eye on our page over the coming months to see what I’m up to 👩🏼‍🌾🪏.
Let me know in the comments if you’d be up for a flower subscription!
