Greg Ellis Celebrant

Greg Ellis Celebrant I'm a celebrant who is ready to help make your day unforgettable and easy! Whatever sort of ceremony Especially customised events.

I am a professional actor and comedian with a background in events and entertainment. I also work in advertising and marketing by day - so words are my specialty. I aim to try and find as much out about you guys, what you want out of the wedding, what your guests expect out of the wedding, and then we collaborate to come up with something that's unique, memorable, and helps you celebrate your spec

ial occasion. Along the way, I'll try to bring my experience to the process with ideas and knowledge of what works and what doesn't. I like to think of the wedding ceremony as an event in itself, not in so much as it needs to be super complex or elaborate but that it has the same thought go into it as the guest list, the dress etc. I've been to a number of weddings where the ceremony has been a bit of an afterthought and it's kind of the important bit. I've got a background in performance but that doesn't mean I want to make the ceremony about me. I'm married - I've had my day, it's about you guys and what you want. But that does mean that pretty much nothing is off-limits! If you want to try something a little different I'm fine with that but I'm also not about forcing you into anything that makes you uncomfortable or "isn't you". In fact, I'm not about forcing you into anything - I've seen enough weddings happen to know that everybody has "helpful opinions" they want to share and I'm not about to add to that. I want you to have a day that is full of great memories and for the ceremony to be a big part of that!

Thinking about music as a way to keep relaxed is a nice way to think about it

Do you want your partner to be looking this relaxed before your marriage ceremony?

The trick is to get the music right. How do you get it right?

❤️As your guests start to arrive, mingle and take their seats, play gentle music in the background to create a relaxed atmosphere.
❤️Remeber to include songs that the groom/bride likes to help calm their nerves while they are waiting.

"Your partner can enter to music that reflects their personality; they can add a bit of fun such as 'Another one bites the dust'."

These are good questions to ask up front folks. And I’m always happy to answer

A marriage celebrant plays an important part of your wedding day. 💍

For couples, who choose celebrant-led weddings, it is important to find the right marriage celebrant: someone they can relate to, someone who fits their preferences, and someone they like.

When you meet with a potential marriage celebrant for the first time, it’s a good idea to have a list of questions prepared, to help you gauge a better understanding of who they are and whether or not you’re the right fit for each other. One important question to ask is:

What experience do you have? 💍

To perform weddings and civil unions in New Zealand, a celebrant must apply to and be registered with the Department of Internal Affairs, Births, Deaths and Marriages. So your first question should be to check that the marriage celebrant is in fact registered to perform a wedding ceremony. But more than that, this question will help you gain insight into the types of ceremonies the marriage celebrant has officiated in the past, and how many weddings they’ve performed, which will help you decide if this is the right celebrant for you.

Just a little link for those of you in the Wellington region that might be contemplating a wedding soon. We're likely to be in Orange for a while - so here's what you can expect

You can have a gathering at Orange, like meeting friends, holding a wedding and attending church, with My Vaccine Pass requirements and restrictions.
