And that's the 2026 Premier Deepstack all wrapped up for another year.
To those who travelled to our game, thank you so much for coming and supporting our game. Our whanau came from near and far - our usuals from the Wairarapa, the Manawatu, the Hawkes Bay, Gisborne, Bay of Plenty, Nelson and the West Coast of the South Island and our old and new friends from Auckland.
Thanks also to those that run satellites for our events; it's important that players get the opportunity to get into these bigger buyin games at a cheaper price point.
To our locals, thank you also for supporting this game. It's always lovely to see the familiar across the tables.
Thank you to the staff at the Petone Working Men's Club. It has been a busy weekend and all departments stepped up and took on their challenges in the best possible ways.
Well done to all those players who cashed over the weekend. Congratulations to Auckland's Gary Adamson who won The Welcome Game on Friday night and to The Hawke's Bays Chris Jenkins, who after Final tabling the Main Event, took out The Bounty Game this afternoon.
But our biggest congratulations go to Carolyn Henare who beat out 103 runners to win the 2026 Premier Deepstack. It will be nice to have a women's name on the trophy.
That's it from us here at Poker HQ. We've loved hosting you and can't wait to do it all again at Labour Weekend for the UPW (Ultimate Poker Weekend).

We started with 104 runners at 10am on Saturday morning, then restarted with the Final 18 this morning at 10am. Auckland's Ahmet Ikanovic and local lad Frankie Jayto had the lions share of the chips. Jayto made short(ish) work of the small stacks on Table 1 while chips were being shared around on Table 2.

By 1130 we had a Final Table of 9 featuring last years PDS Champion Sam Clark, last years UPW Champion Andrew Tyler and the big stack of Franky Jayto.

Even though everyone played great and Jayto played admirably, he was no match to the chat and amazingly awesome cards of Gisborne's Carolyn Henare.

Not only does Henare become the first female name emblazoned on the Premier Deepstack Trophy, she is the first female to have her name on any PWMC Poker HQ Trophy.

Biggest congratulation Carolyn Henare on winning this years Premier Deepstack.

9 hours after cards first flew in the 2026 Premier Deepstack, Zhen Ye-qing busted out in 19th place to leave us our Final 18 in this year's event.

Everyone is now in the money with the next 9 players pocketing $580.

Ahmet Ikanovic and Franky Jayto are our two big stacks going into Day 2 which starts at 10am, Sunday morning. We'll be back to Round 20, 6K / 12K / 12K (BBA) with 22:43 left on the clock at this level.

We're looking forward to seeing who rises to the top, it's going to be a great day of poker.

Cards will also fly in the $50 Bounty game at 11am, Rego for that game opens at 10am. Still seats available.

Players get your rest, we'll see you by 9.45 in the morning.
