And another sold out Poker HQ Ultimate Poker Weekend has come to an end.
We have had an absolute blast hosting you all this year. In this time of tough economies, a lot of you travelled from near and really far to play the game you love to play, in our club and we sincerely thank you all for coming.
We would just like to also take this oppurtunity to thank those who help to keep this weekend afloat and that is the staff of the Petone Working Men's Club. Thank you for all your hard work in Gaming, behind the Bars (Sally Anne amd Benji, you did a great job in the Kensington), in the Bistro and at Reception These are busy weekends and you all go above and beyond what's expected of you. We appreciate you all as do the poker guests who came to play.
To UHCC Aces High Adjunct's Sue Rapira, and Niki at TA - thanks for your continued support of these games by running satellites and getting our locals to these games at a cheaper price point.
To everyone who travelled - these weekends don't happen without you so once again, thank you. We also want to thank our local players - we are always thankful for the support that we get from our home base. We hope you've had a great time and look forward to seeing you all again.
Well done to all our cashers this weekend. Big fields are tough and to make it to the end is no mean feat.
But the biggest of congratulations to all our winners this weekend - Manawatu's Piripi Whaanga for first place in the Welcome Game on Friday night, Hawke's Bays Jordan Ropotini for taking out the winners spot in the Bounty and our 2026 UPW Main Event Champion, from Aucklands Central Stars, Mitchell King..
We hope you've had as good a time this year as we had hosting you. We can't wait to do it all again in 2027.
- Dave, Vicky, Duane, Jo & Karen
