Danish Delicacy Catering Co began with a love for traditional Danish cuisine and a few recipe experiments that quickly turned into requests from Danish friends in New Zealand. Inspired by their support, we launched in October 2021 to bring authentic smørrebrød to Auckland. Our menu features classic Danish open-faced sandwiches and Kiwi-inspired twists, all made fresh with premium ingredients. Smør

rebrød is perfect for lunch or any occasion where great food and a touch of Danish “hygge” are welcome. We’re proud to share a taste of Denmark, crafted with passion and tradition.

At Danish Delicacy, we take pride in creating our dishes from scratch, turning simple ingredients into unforgettable flavors. Recently, our 30-hour rye sourdough bread, homemade potato salad, Danish-style pork pate, and Frikadeller pork meatballs delighted guests at a special 50th birthday celebration. And let's not forget our in-house made nitrate-free bacon, crafted with care and passion to ensure quality and taste in every bite.

What a busy and exciting April it has been! We loved being part of such special occasions, from celebrating milestone birthdays to honoring years of love with a 40th wedding anniversary, and supporting our fantastic corporate clients. When we first came up with our catering menu we wanted to bring a little bit of NZ to your plate along with our traditional Danish Smørrebrød and this one here, has become another one of our most requested flavours even amongst the meat eaters!

A fun little tidbit, the name 'Ingen Oversættelse' literally translates to 'no translation' as there is no direct translation in Danish for this kiwi inspired 'Kumara and Avocado' creation. 😅

Celebrating love and tradition with each delightful ring of the Kransekage! According to Danish folklore, the number of rings that remain with the top layer predicts the number of children a couple will have. It's not just a delicious dessert; it's a symbol of hopes and dreams for the future!
