Danish Delicacy Catering Co began with a love for traditional Danish cuisine and a few recipe experiments that quickly turned into requests from Danish friends in New Zealand. Inspired by their support, we launched in October 2021 to bring authentic smørrebrød to Auckland. Featuring our in-house made Danish-style rye bread (rugbrød), the foundation of our premium smørrebrød! Made with 100% rye sourdough, our bread is fermented for at least 15 hours from mixing to baking. Did you know that Danish rye bread (rugbrød) is a dense, whole-grain sourdough packed with fiber, vitamins, and seeds? It helps control blood sugar, keeps you full longer, improves digestion, and supports heart health! Not only do we use this delicious bread for our smørrebrød, but we also sell it by the loaf.
