Can’t say I’ve come across this before but apparently it’s a good luck omen for great weather on your wedding day. It worked today!

Congratulations Anna and Max! 27.2.26
It rained the whole time traveling from Paraparaumu to Masterton, then rained off and on for the rest of the day, but that didn’t stop the show!
On a beautiful private property in the Wairarapa, close to 140 friends and family came to celebrate the wedding of Anna and Max! Our journey with them started close to two years ago when they reached out about catering their wedding. The options they selected were as follows.
Canapés
- Yellowfin tuna tartare, prawn cracker, kew pie
- Smoked pork belly skewer, harissa, crackling
- Lamb rib with mint verde
- Soft Brie, plum, seed cracker
- Gin cured salmon gravadlax, goats cheese mousse, ciabatta
Mains
- Herb roasted scotch fillet
- Paprika and Sumac smoked chicken thigh
- Roasted potatoes with garlic and herbs
- Chargrilled courgette, mint yoghurt, tahini and lemon
- Roasted beetroot and carrots, walnuts, yoghurt
- Greek style salad, feta and pickled red onions
Thanks for choosing us to cater your special day! The staff loved it, and loved the crowd! A great time had by all!

Claire and Tony - 28/12/25
Dinner is served! A beautiful day at the Otaihanga Boating Club in Kapiti to celebrate this couples wedding day! After the storm warnings, and the impending rain, it all worked out and we had an absolutely stunning day!
Rib eye and chicken thighs were on the menu, along with roasted beetroot and carrots, chargrilled courgettes with mint yoghurt, herb roasted spuds, cos lettuce with miso dressing and pecorino. We finished the night off with a late night snack of a birria style taco!
Congrats again Claire and Tony! Thanks for having us to help celebrate your day with you 🙂

Where does our inspiration come from?
A number of years ago we were in Melbourne and saw a dish similar to this, this time we saw it in Sydney. Fried green beans with pork mince. Our version is green beans, chorizo, harissa, and toasted sesame seeds. A chefs inspiration comes from every corner of the world, all realms of culture, hospitality, and opportunity.
