Working in Levin today and decided to treat myself to a mochaccino from McDonald's - I very rarely buy coffee, so this was a big moment 😅 only to be told they aren't making coffees for the next hour (for whatever reason)

Apparently 10.45am isn't considered peak coffee time - who knew? Mahi coffee it is ☕️

All our native trees have meanings, wairua and a purakau (story that relates to the Atua. For our majestic totara - imagine standing under it to say your vows.
"Ruia taitea, kia tū ko taikaka anake." - Shake off the sapwood, let the heartwood stand alone.
A meaning: Tōtara wood has an outer layer (sapwood) that eventually decays, but the core (heartwood) is incredibly strong, dense, and rot-resistant. This saying is a metaphor for stripping away distractions, negativity, or trivial things to reveal one's true strength and core values.

✨🌌 Puanga, Matariki & Love 🌌✨

As the stars of Puanga and Matariki rise across the skies it carries such beautiful energy for weddings and civil unions. It is a time of:
✨ gathering together
✨ acknowledging those who came before us
✨ celebrating connection
✨ and stepping intentionally into a new chapter together

Whether your ceremony is intimate and quiet, traditional, relaxed, or beautifully unique, this season invites us to weave love and commitment with meaning and intention.

🌿 Symbolically, June Can Represent: Seasonal Connection
Winter (takurua) can symbolise:
reflection
restoration
gathering close
strengthening bonds
preparation for new beginnings

That energy aligns beautifully with weddings and civil unions — especially intimate ceremonies focused on connection and intention.

This whakataukī reminds us that abundance and prosperity come in many forms.

At Te Aho Weddings and Civil Unions, I honour the beauty of small and intimate ceremonies — where the true wealth lies in the people who gather and the kai that nourishes us. These moments reflect what matters most — connection, care, and the sharing of life together.

It’s not about how big the celebration is, but how meaningful it feels 🤍

A March wedding signifies a transitional time from summer to autumn, symbolizing renewal, growth, and the strength to overcome challenges.

The daffodil is a symbol of a March wedding and represents new beginnings, joy, and rebirth

Aquamarine is the primary March birthstone, - symbolizing tranquility, loyalty, courage, and friendship.
