What a dazzling celebration of community spirit at the FIKA community high tea luncheon at the Ohinemuri Club last Saturday! Our heartfelt gratitude overflows to each and every one of you who attended and played a pivotal role in making this event a phenomenal success. Thanks to your collective efforts, we've triumphantly raised $400 for the Ohinemuri Club Maintenance and Development Fund and another $600 for CanTeen Aotearoa!

Our sincerest appreciation extends to all who supported our raffles, the Ohinemuri Club for graciously allowing us to use their premises, and our incredible sponsors Valley Funeral Services, Jan and Ian M, Pam and Mike D, Andrea B and Cindy L for their remarkable contributions to our raffle prizes. A special thank you to Valley Funeral Services for their spot prizes. You've all embodied the true spirit of community and generosity, inspiring us all to make a profound difference.

Kudos to our extraordinary team - Christine N, Pam D, Jeanette M, Ayla N, Eddie and Cindy L - who worked tirelessly to create an unforgettable experience. We're profoundly grateful to Christine N for her outstanding work as our MC and quiz mistress, shining brightly with her exceptional talent. Our next event is scheduled on the 7 November 2026 where we will fund raise for KidsCan. As the theme for the upcoming FIKA luncheon is Alice in Wonderland, prizes will be awarded to the best dressed patrons. We are pleased to invite you to our monthly 'COME FIKA WITH US' Luncheon, a celebration of community and connection, scheduled for 3 October 2026, from 12 to 2:30pm at the Ohinemuri Club. This event promises to foster camaraderie and inspiration among attendees.

Over time, our gatherings have evolved into a haven for seniors to enjoy good company, delicious food, and entertainment at an affordable price. We appreciate your ongoing support, which has enabled us to contribute to various charitable causes and positively impact our community.

Your presence at the upcoming FIKA Luncheon will support CanTeen Aotearoa and the Ohinemuri Club Maintenance and Development Fund through our raffles. There will be prizes for best bandanas in addition to our spot prizes and trivia quiz prizes. This event is an opportunity to reconnect with acquaintances and meet new people, and we warmly invite family and friends of all ages to join us.

What a glorious celebration of community spirit at the FIKA community high tea luncheon at the Ohinemuri Club last Saturday! Our gatherings have blossomed over time, nurturing a haven for seniors to savor great fun, delicious food, and captivating entertainment, all at an affordable price. We're deeply grateful for your unwavering support and generosity, which have enabled us to uplift various charitable causes and make a real difference in our community.
