Today marks 15 years of marriage with the man who has been my greatest support. In my work as a celebrant, I have the privilege of standing beside couples as they speak their promises, celebrate their journey, and step into a new chapter together. I get to witness love in all its forms — but today, I’m pausing to honour our own.

Fifteen years of building a life that feels steady, warm, and full of meaning. I’m endlessly grateful for my wonderful husband, Ewan — for his kindness, his humour, his unwavering support, and the quiet strength he brings into everyday life.

What a fabulous day — blue skies, open roads, and that peaceful feeling you only get once you’re past the last town sign.

Today’s wedding in Sutton was just lovely. Genuine, joy‑filled, and full of those little glances and smiles that remind me why I love this work so much. Standing there with two people ready to promise their lives to each other… it never gets old.

Can't wait to do it all again next weekend in Naseby 💕

Ever noticed brides almost always claim the left side of the aisle?

It’s one of those traditions we all follow without thinking — but the reason behind it? Way more dramatic than you’d expect. Think swords. Yes, swords!

Back in medieval times, weddings weren’t just about romance; they were about alliances, dowries, and sometimes a little chaos. Grooms kept their right hand free… just in case they needed to draw a sword and fend off rival suitors or angry relatives. Basically, weddings were part love story, part action movie.

Fast forward to today, and the sword is long gone (thank goodness), but the tradition stuck — now it’s more about symbolism than self-defense.

There’s something truly special about standing with two people as they promise to share a journey into the future. Marriage is about choosing each other—not just today, but every single day.

Every ceremony is unique because every couple has their own beautiful story. Being trusted to bring that story to life is an honour I never take for granted.

Of course, Simon and Hannah’s love story will always hold a special place in my heart—that’s a Mum’s privilege! 💕

To stand before my eldest son on his wedding day not only as his Mum, but as the one trusted to speak the words that join two hearts forever was an absolute honour.

The entire day was wrapped in love from every direction - surrounded by a beautiful circle of their family and friends.
