A full on but fun weekend delivering the Sunshine Street fiesta in Whakatāne. It’s been a while since we had all this going on in the CBD; fab entertainment till late, ice sharing, a rock wall, carnival rides, mini golf, food trucks and more. Best of all it was terrific to see the community come together in our vibrant town

The finale event of Sunshine and a Plate a few weekends ago was a stunner! While we had no idea that the event world was about to change dramatically so soon afterwards, we couldn’t have planned a better way to mark it.

A beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Port Ōhope Wharf taking photographs of Sunset on the Wharf with Hamertons Lawyers and Focus Chartered Accountants. This was my first time volunteering for Sunshine and a Plate - what a blast it was to spend a few hours soaking in my beautiful backyard. These are some of my faves from the day, so if you see yourself or your friend, go ahead and TAG or SHARE. A massive shout out to all the volunteers, organisers, donors and of course, the guests.

Sunshine and a Plate is approaching it's 5th year and is now established as a must-do event and chance to celebrate the abundant food, lifestyle and sunshine in the Whakatāne District.

A festival highlight is always the Sunshine Gourmet Markets in association with Ocean Ford & Fairview Aluminium held on Saturday 29th February. This family-friendly gourmet extravaganza set in our brand new location amongst beautiful gardens has something for everyone. With a range of tantalising speciality food stalls, garden bar, a children's area and fantastic entertainment, all guests need to do is bring a picnic blanket, their wallet and an appetite.
