What a wonderful wedding that I officiated at tonight at Zealong Tea Estate, Gordonton, Hamilton. There was something special about a six o’clock wedding as the weather was lovely and we seamlessly went into the reception without people having to wait around for hours. Beautiful food and service. On Thursday evening I held a wedding rehearsal at this beautiful site at Raglan. On Friday i returned to officiate at the actual wedding . It looked as if it was going to rain but brightened up just as the bride was ready to walk down the aisle so I could put away our umbrellas. It was such a beautiful venue, fantastic couple and a really lovely ceremony with lots of humour in it too!

The rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the bride and groom, nor any of the guests, at the beautiful wedding of Andea and Mitchell. Magic was in the air at the unique Treechurch, Ohaupo last weekend. What a beautiful evening wedding in Yarndleys Bush. The bride and groom only took two and a half weeks to decide to get married. As we continued to have covid in our community with no end in sight, they decided to go ahead even though we were in Level 2 Lockdown, with smaller numbers. Some of their family members could not travel from overseas and Auckland to be there so everything was videoed and they included those special people in the ceremony in their own way. We didn’t need music as the birds sang and love was in the air. Elizabeth and Elizabeth looked like beautiful forest nymphs. It was magical. Congratulations Julian and Elizabeth.

Had a wedding practice at the beautiful Tree Church in Ohaupo, tonight. What a wonderful venue for making lasting memories. The gardens surrounding the church are just stunning. All the little details make this simply gorgeous.... for me, it was the wild roses peeping through the sides of the church, then there is an amazing labyrinth opposite the church, and hosts of lavender irises in flower filled beds. The roses are in full bloom at the moment too. The owner told me tonight that there are different packages available for weddings.

I wonder how many celebrants can say what I said at a wedding I officiated at yesterday: 1. I was bridesmaid for the bride’s grandmother when she got married at 19, 2.I officiated at the same grandmother’s second wedding when grandmother was in her forties. 3. I officiated at bride’s mothers wedding at my house and held the reception at my house. ( The bride was the flower girl then)
4. Yesterday I married (officiated) for the now bride and her husband. So a special tradition.
