It occurred to me today how you as the couple have a whole tribe of flower fairies for your one day. I mean I always knew this, but it really hit home again today.

About 6 weeks out from your date, I put your order in. I've crunched the numbers and considered the exact type of flowers we need for each arrangement.

I then send it to my wholesaler and then they start contacting their suppliers. Often they are phoning multiple growers to check if a certain colour will be ready for picking for that date. What they can't pre-order they jot down and bid for in the auction at 5am Wednesday.

Then, when its all purchased they enter into the packing slip and send to me. Any other issues they're ringing me and solving.

Then they get onto packing, taping the boxes, putting a refrigerated truck and sending down to me.

Who knew you had a whole extra team working for your day, making sure it's right xx

A romantic garden setting for Sarah and Craig's Taranaki Wedding

They had permanent cast urns already in their private garden, wanting to arrange flowers spilling out of them.

Then, they also wanted to move them to the ceremony after.

So we had to problem solve and come up with a way to do both.

The solution was to arrange them in massive buckets that would slide into the big ceremony urns, (with lots of packing). But then find urns that could hold them for the marquee setting. All arranged in a way that they could collect them and set up themselves...and stay hydrated and fresh for the entire day.

With lots of researching, measuring and brainstorming I hired urns from and it worked.

I asked Pax what helped her design and curate a day that was truly them.

She said "Start early. Have mood boards and have a clear vision, and also trust and listen to your vendors because they know what they are the pros! We would also say, dont try and follow trends too much, take inspiration from who you are as a couple and everything will come together!"

I was so impressed how unique their day was and it showed as how at ease they were and how pefectly the day flowed.
