🙏 Thankyou so much for all of your enthusiasm! I'm so excited for our blooms to be off to their new homes, weddings and offices! What an array of jobs they have to do.

Spring is sprung! (Can I say that in midwinter 😂) Nelson Winter isn't real winter though, my wee girl is still regularly playing in the sprinkler, I'm often working in shorts, I love this place!

Most of the daffodils are on their way up still but we had this early one arrive even before the Erlicheers!

🌷 I planted out my whole fenceline with daffodils and dahlias a few years back and then went and build my raised beds over the top of them but they don't care they force their way through anyway! They are just starting to poke through the soil now so I can wait until they are all flowering.

Aside from that yay the frost arrived! I was up a bit late to get a full frosted zinnia but what's left is still so pretty 😍 I actually don't like Winter so I'm not sure why I was soooooo excited for a frost this morning but I was!

Also I popped some of my friends honeycomb out in the stand again today for those who have been asking. Someone messaged telling me they had an 'almost divine experience' eating it so get in quick for your journey to the other world 🌟

I needed a bit of brightness on a dreary winters day, how about you?

🌸 This was the last big Autumn harvest and it's my inspiration to get out in the rain and get working, anyone else working in the rain today?

⚒️ You may have noticed I didn't have any Cafe Au Lait dahlias this year. They grew and grew and grew to about 2m tall and didn't flower 🤦🏼‍♀️I'm 99% sure it's because they didn't get enough sun where they were so my big job for this week is meant to be extending that big bed I built last winter. I thought I'd used up all my space but no! I can find more 😂

🤔 But perhaps it can wait til the sun comes back out, my drill might not want to get wet... so this might be a day for seeding in the greenhouse. I have three colours of statice this season needing to get started, I'm super excited for alllll the statice, I have 500 going and another 1000 to go! What colours would you like to see?

It's been such a nice afternoon over here! I've been meaning to get out the brazier for a while, I dunno about your house, but evenings are always so hectic here so it just doesn't happen. At lunchtime I thought, why can't we just have a fire now?

The mini-boss turned 4 yesterday so we had lots of wrapping paper floating around, and I chipped the tree trimmings a couple of weeks back so had a heap of bigger branches left that needed somewhere to go.

Highly recommend a random afternoon fire! So relaxing and cosy, I found a few marshmallows leftover from Christmas Camping, the boss loved burning stuff so much she cleaned all her 'precious pictures' out of the cupboards and burned them 😂 (yay for a clean out!) we had hot chocolate and played the ukelele and harmonica and sang songs... A good few hours spent just being present 😍

PS Zinnias still going strong! Swing past on your way home tonight for some Friday flowers ☺️

It doesn't look like it but these zinnias are shaking in their boots! The first frost we get will be the end of them, but the forecast is still looking pretty warm! Have you had a frost yet? If you have, let me know where you are ☃️

Last year I expected a frost around May but it wasn't until the end of June so if that's the case they have nothing to worry about because I'll be pulling them out before then to make way for ranunculus....which reminds me I have a video for you guys I must get onto!

The chiller sagas continue! If you've missed it, the first one had a beeper that would go off every few hours and upset the neighbour's.... The second one I bought, hired a trailer, got it all the way home to find..the fan went but no chill! Then a friend so kindly gave us their old fridge last week which seemed a very affordable option being free...until it froze all the sunflowers 🤦🏼‍♀️ So if anyone sees a commercial chiller for sale on the cheap send me the link! I need a proper solution by Spring for our ranunculus 😍

I tell ya though it's not just fridges... printers, wifi, computers, phones, technology just loves to go on the fritz for me, anyone else?
