An Amethyst Geode Cake!

Made for a special birthday last year. Coffee flavoured butter cake, filled with milk chocolate ganache and finished with vanilla buttercream. Decorated with coloured rock sugar and dusted with gold!

Who doesn't love hydrangeas?

I created this cake for a special birthday- so the cake had to be special too! A brown-sugar, caramalised pear vanilla buttercake with a salted caramel filling, chocolate ganache and vanilla buttercream. Finished off with edible gold leaf and pineapple sage.

The most stressful cakes are always the ones for my own children! This year my 8 year old requested "Mermaid theme" so this is what I came up with. Those butter cream 'scales' are deceptively difficult and time consuming!!
