Hats Off | Week 1

If running your own business has taught me anything, it’s that the job description is always longer than you think.

So I’m starting a series. Each week (ish 🤣) I’ll show up in a different hat – literally – to share the real side of running a small business.

The juggle, the decisions, the moments that don’t make the highlight reel.

I figured I’d kick it off with the story that summed it up perfectly.

A while back I popped back to a venue the morning after one of our events to make sure everything had been collected and venue was clean. It had … almost 😏

What I found in the car park was someone’s very enthusiastic end to the evening. I’m fairly confident it wasn’t one of ours.

I could have walked past it. (trust me
I really wanted too 🤣) I didn’t.
Rubber gloves on, big girl pants up, got on with it.

No audience. No applause. No job title that covers that particular moment.

That’s the real side of the business and that’s what this series is about.

We’re now offering a 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for couples who want expert guidance without committing to full planning 🙌

This is a focused, one-on-one session where we step back and look at your plans properly. We’ll talk through where you’re at, what’s working, what might need refining, and make sure nothing has been overlooked.

We cover things like overall timing and flow of the day, supplier selection and gaps, budget priorities, guest experience, and any logistical challenges that might come up.

It’s practical, honest advice based on real-world experience .... not theory !

Having delivered 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘀 of weddings over the years throughout NZ and the UK, we’ve seen just about everything. From weather that doesn’t cooperate through to the unexpected moments that inevitably pop up and knowing how to plan for those things makes all the difference.

As part of the consultation, you’ll also receive a set of planning tools and templates to support you moving forward, including a budget template, run sheet, supplier tracker, and guidance around key elements like your MC role and bar setup.

The goal is simple, to give you clarity, direction, and confidence in your plans so you can move forward knowing everything is on track.

Consultations start from $350 + GST (2 hours), with flexible options available.
