It’s been a little quiet from us lately… but behind the scenes at Whistle & Bloom there has been a LOT happening 🌿
We are still very much in the start-up phase of this journey, and while social media often only shows the pretty parts, the reality is there’s been a mountain of foundational work happening in the background — council processes, compliance, paperwork, business systems, and making sure we get everything set up properly from the beginning (including keeping the tax man happy 😅).
Slowly but surely, we are building something truly special for our community.
One of the biggest things we’ve learnt so far is that businesses are never built alone. We have been incredibly lucky to have the guidance and support of Susan Cooney Oxygen8 Consulting whose encouragement, wisdom, and belief in this dream has been instrumental in helping Whistle & Bloom take shape. If you are starting a business journey of your own, we cannot recommend her highly enough 💛
We are also very excited to share that we are in the process of establishing a charitable arm of Whistle & Bloom, with the goal of creating more opportunities to support local families, community groups, and those who may benefit most from access to nature-based experiences and connection.
In amongst all the “grown-up admin,” we have also started launching some really fun experiences:
🌸 Nature-based birthday parties
🎨 Paint & Create sessions
🌿 Playgroup outings and scavenger hunts
🐐 Farm adventures, outdoor exploring, animal encounters, and space for kids to simply be kids again.
At the heart of it all, Whistle & Bloom has always been about reconnecting people with nature, slowing things down a little, and creating meaningful memories together.
The support from our community so far has honestly blown us away. Every message, share, recommendation, and encouraging conversation has meant more than you probably realize. Thank you for believing in what we are trying to build here.
We’ll keep slogging away through the red tape, the long days, and the learning curves — because we truly believe this community deserves something magical 🌾
And lastly — we want to give a little shout out to some of the other amazing local families who are also out there building beautiful rural and nature-based experiences for our community 🌿
Businesses like Lafon Acres , Feather’nDown Homestead, Creature Comforts, and so many others are pouring their hearts into creating spaces that reconnect people with animals, nature, slow living, and genuine community connection.
Starting something from scratch is not for the faint-hearted, and we believe there is more than enough room for all of us to succeed together. Community over competition, always ❤️
Please support local, follow their journeys, share their pages, and cheer them on too — because when small family-run businesses thrive, our whole community benefits.
