HELLO SAILOR: LEGACY FEST 2026

Opening deep in the catalogue before rolling into favourites like Lyin’ In The Sand, Billy Bold and the unmistakable Gutter Black, the Hello Sailor Legacy Fest set was a reminder of how many chapters this band has written into New Zealand’s musical story.

Who was there for Rumpus Machine in that mid afternoon sunshine… with a light Matakana mist thrown in for atmosphere?

One minute blue skies, the next a dusting of rain and these guys just powered straight through it.

Rumpus Machine are everything we love about backing new NZ music. Confident, musically sharp, FUN and completely at home on a big stage. It’s no wonder so many of you were messaging us about them afterwards!

This is what Legacy Fest is about; celebrating the icons, and championing the next wave shaping Aotearoa’s sound.

Make sure you’re following Rumpus Machine and catch them on tour in 2026. These guys are absolute legends, with a lifetime to go!
