Congratulations to Ed and Juliet Cooke who were recently presented with Kings Service Medals, for services to music at Government house. Ed and Juliet played in the MATS Orchestra for many shows, over many years. So well deserved.

MTC Life Member Marilyn Bouzaid, steps down from her role as the regional organizer of Wairarapa Shakespeare Festival after 13 years. Pictured here with Richard Brooks, the 2026 adjudicator . Richard has directed some great plays at Harlequin over the years.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Michael MCGruddy Jr. On Sunday after years of battling mental illness. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the McGruddy, Carman and Thomson families. Michael was very talented and performed with MATS in his younger years before training at NASDA. His funeral is on Monday 4th May. 1pm, Rosewood. Rest in Peace Michael.
