ATTENTION TUBER ORDERERS ‼️

Admin Manager Frizzles has asked me to address a small administrative issue.

Despite my pleading the other day to please choose the correct shipping option… approximately 90% of you went absolutely rogue. 🤣

To be fair, I get it. Tuber sale night is a mad rush and apparently reading shipping options ranks somewhere below SECURE THE DAHLIAS 🤣🤣

So! If you selected the wrong shipping at checkout, you’ll receive a link from me to pay the difference once I get to your order.

Please keep an eye on your inbox AND spam folder. If it’s left unpaid for too long, unfortunately your order may have to be cancelled. Which opens a whole other administrative can of worms for Frizzles.

She’s already under considerable pressure. She has no opposable thumbs. Please don’t make her job harder. 🐔

Delivering packages yesterday… I had a little chuckle to myself. We have really professionalised the operation.

Last year: product in brown paper bags, names handwritten (and not even carefully) in Sharpie.

This year: respirator. Custom packaging. Branded distribution.

Quality control has improved.
My lungs have improved from all the tuber dust. 🤣 Presentation has improved. Mine has not. 🫣😂
The product remains highly addictive.

I am the one who grows.

After years of making bouquets in dark, slightly questionable, rat-frequented, garages… or outside in the wind and rain … she is here 😍 LOOK AT HER. 🥹

An actual dedicated workspace. For flowers. For me. With LIGHT. And hopefully no farm rats. 😂

Every year I think I’ve left the tuber sale way too late and no one will want them.

Every year I spend tuber sale day stressed to the max as I prep and skip meals and worry about the bombardment of people who are just as passionate about dahlias as I am.

Every year I run out of time 🫠

Every year my heart genuinely hurts for people who lose tubers from their cart as people checkout faster.

And, every year I am blown away by your support of this feral business.

There will be another sale as the late to eye up tubers start, so if you missed out, there’s still a chance. As I was a billion years too late sending the sale email, the next sale will be announced through the newsletter only so be sure to join up through the website.

We are expanding the dahlia field so lots of your favourite varieties were held back so that next year there will be plenty more to go round.

I will work my way through all the emails and incorrect shipping (🤣🫣) over the coming weeks. Be patient with me… I’m just one person doing all the things.

It’s not the best photo but I’m knees deep in tuber counting 🫠 I’m up to G… a long way to go. But, y’all need to know the facts before the s**t goes down tonight at 7pm sharp, on the website.

🖤Varieties this year are being labelled as single tubers or clumps. A clump is 2 or more tubers. It can still have only one eye or it may have multiple eyes. Single tubers are listed at a lower price this year 🥳

🖤Website should be updated this afternoon with what is in the sale. Like I said… I’m updated until F currently. Haven’t counted romance yet 🌸

🖤Please try to choose the right shipping option on checkout. I know it’s a mad panic rush to check out but going back through and sending links for shipping corrections is a drag 🤣 Help a gal out.

🖤I’m only loading tubers with eyes so there will likely be another sale in the next few weeks with the slow to eye up tubers.

Sooooo, yesterday I was minding my own business, in the shed, still splitting a zillion dahlia tubers so I’m ready for the online tuber sale (TOMORROW 🫣😬), when I got a message.

“Used your flowers in the latest addition of NZ House & Garden and they look fab!”

My reply was literally “Whattttttttt?!”

So there we go, Feral Flowers made a mag 😎 and our shaggy feral gerberas and dahlia totally look the part.

Kezna, you absolutely made my day! I always wonder where my bouqs end up… but my imagination didn’t quite reach this level 🥰

So yeah… today I look at this “bogan from Paraparaumu” and I’m fiercely proud. Not because I’ve got everything figured out. Not because I’ve proved anything to anyone.

Just because I know who I am now.

And turns out… I was never “good for nothing” after all. 🖤
