Winter is suppose to be my quiet time......back from Hong Kong and creating three stunning wedding gowns for July.
It is always a wonderful experience to meet people from different cultures and how working in the same industry brings us together. Chinese weddings are quite different to ours and yet you see the same wonderful emotions....the mother of the bride gently fussing, the groomsmen nervously joking with the groom pre wedding ceremony and of course the bride, nervous but very beautiful.

Finally got to TePapa last week and viewed the stunning ' Unveiled' exhibition. What can I say ? To see 300 years of Bridal Fashion and consider how wedding gowns say so much about the wearer was fantastic. I sketched many of the gowns and studied the cut, fabric and of course the superb hand finishing.
We are so fortunate to have this exhibition come to New Zealand ........ It is not often I can stand next to the work of some of the worlds leading couturiers and envelope myself in this level of artistry.
On my home front ,I have booked for my next fabric buying / research trip to Hong Kong . I will be away for two weeks in June .

STOP PRESS......Shop is booked for our next Workroom sale!

O.K. everyone I am VERY excited about this. Since our last sale in Febuary I have been sorting, travelling and finding lots of gorgeous goodies for you.
The theme is Vintage Treasures and we have lots of beautiful fabrics......from Italian silks to retro cottons, old and new designer buttons,vintage patterns,bridal gowns,vintage frocks,cotton laces and lots of trims. I hope this excites you!!!!!!!

I also love beautiful things in my home ( they dont have to cost a fortune) so we have also in our treasure trove vintage linen,china, pictures and cushions.

The pop up shop ( this is the trendy name for it ) will be swathed in draped fabric with garlands of flowers...........am I a Romantic or what!

I hope gives you as much pleasure as we are having putting it together,
