Lock it in, team! 🗓️ Smoke Smoke At the Lake, South Island Competition Ellesmere A&P Show is back, along with the Saturday NZBA and SCA comps. If you love good mates, fresh country air, and world-class BBQ, this is where you need to be. Who else is heading along? 🧑‍🌾🔥🍖

🚌 Connecting the city to the country! 🚌

We’re making it easier than ever to get to the Ellesmere A&P Show on Saturday, 17th October 2026!

We want our show to be accessible to everyone—whether you don't drive, don't have access to a vehicle, or simply want to head out from Christchurch without the hassle of driving the whole way.

Our FREE bus service bridges the gap, running loops between local transport hubs and the showgrounds!

📍 How to connect: Hop on a public bus or grab a ride from the city out to Rolleston or Lincoln, step straight onto our free show shuttle, and we’ll take you right to the gates.

No car? No problem. Skip the parking stress and come join us for a fantastic day out! 🎟️✨

Honor, tradition, and 400+ km on a 1910 Burrell traction engine! 🚜💨

​Thomas Kyle is setting off on a slow and testing journey from Seadown to Aoraki Mt Cook Village and back to raise money for Crohn’s and Colitis New Zealand. He’s taking on the exact same route his late father, John, completed 40 years ago on the very same machine.

It is expected to be a slow and testing journey, but a young Timaru man is determined to travel 400km on a traction engine to honour his late father and raise funds for charity.

🚜 CALLING ALL FARMERS! 🚜

Are you ready to see how your winter feed stacks up against the best in the district?

The 30th Ellesmere Winter Feed Competition is officially here, and it's time to get those entries in!

Whether you’ve got a standout paddock of Fodder Beet, top-tier Grass Silage, or the cleanest Autumn Saved Pasture, there is a category for you.

🗓️ THE KEY DATES
- Silage Entries Close: Monday, 18th May
- Silage Sample Collection: Thursday, 21st May
- All Other Entries Close: Sunday, 24th May
- Judging Days: Tuesday, 26th May & Wednesday, 27th May
- Prize-giving: Friday, 29th May at 7:00 PM (A&P Committee Room)

🌾 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Classes: 15 different categories, including Kale, Swedes, Cereals, and various Silage/Bailage types.

Entry Fee: Only $10 per entry.

Entry Limit: To ensure high-quality judging, there is a maximum of 4 entries per farm.

Judges: We are thrilled to have Alister Moorhead (Agricom) as our Main Judge, joined by Farmer Judge Jeremy Wi******er.

📝 HOW TO ENTER
Simply fill out the entry form and email it to [email protected].

Payment can be made via bank transfer to the Ellesmere A&P Association (BNZ 02-0860-0010241-00) with the reference "Winter Feed," or paid in cash on the night of the prize-giving.
