Ellesmere A&P Show 2025 is gearing up to be a rural spectacular!

Experience traditional animal, shearing and woodchopping competitions, alongside our newer fencing & barbecue events, plus vintage machinery, highland dancing and sheds filled with crafts, baking and more.

Enjoy horses in the main ring, retail and trade exhibitors, and a side show alley with the brand new all-day bouncy castle pass for just $15 that can be purchased on the day.

As always we will have a diverse range of food, live entertainment including "Selwyn's Got Talent" and much more, there's something for everyone!

Reminder the 2025 Winter feed competition starts tomorrow, Tuesday 13th of May, 8am at PGG Leeston.

Anybody who is wanting to view the judging is more than welcome to meet at this time and follow along.

We're looking forward to seeing what 2025 has to offer and a great few days of judging and celebrating the best Winter Feed crops in the area.

ELLESMERE AGRICULTURAL & PASTORAL ASSOCIATION
ON-FARM DAIRY HEIFER COMPETITION – 2025

Conditions of Entry:

This competition is confined to the Ellesmere A & P District Boundaries for all dairy farmers. All stock judged to be within these boundaries. Herd size to be stated on entry form. The complete line of heifers must be exhibited and to be presented for judging in a reasonably confined area (i.e. behind an electric wire) with reasonable access (i.e. handy to a road). The general public will be encouraged to follow the judging but are asked not to enter the paddock until judging is completed.

Judging Criteria:

Size and evenness of the line 100 points

Condition 100 points

Dairy conformation 100 points

Classes:

1 1 year heifer born since 1/7/24

2 2 year heifer born since 1/7/23

3 Best line of heifers any age exhibited by a person grazing stock other than

his own for a minimum of 2 months.

· Judging Day: By Appointment - week commencing 28th April 2025

· Prizegiving and Presentations - the Leeston Showgrounds on Monday evening 16th May 2025 at 7.30pm.

Ellesmere A&P Association Winter Feed Comp 2025!

Entry Fee: $10 per entry.

As of 2025 we ask that each farm only enters a maximum of 4 entries per farm, so that we can give entry the acceptable judging time.

Judging: Tuesday 13th May and Thursday 15th May

The Public is invited to attend the judging on the Tuesday and Thursday, times and locations will be released closer to the date.

Results: Friday 16th May, Prize-giving function 7pm at the Ellesmere A&P Association Committee Room at the Show Grounds.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Ellesmere A. & P. Association will be held at the Ellesmere A & P Show Grounds, Leeston, on Thursday 20th March 2024 at 7.30 p.m.
