Following the El Nido sunset, here's another from down the road at Liu Beach (also my favourite beach in El Nido). The airport and runway is next to the beach so the planes were landing and taking off 100m down the beach from us - hence the plane!

The first photo is what I consider apart of my top 3 landscape photos I've ever taken. It was my phone's screensaver for a full year, so I thought I had posted it (oops)

Estimates say 35,000—looking at all of the time lapses and drone footage, I reckon more—much more.

One of the things I was in awe of was the peace, the unity, the feeling of welcomeness to everyone. Māori, Tangata Tiriti, and Tauiwi alike came together to stand for their beliefs. Everything positive that has been said about Hīkoi mō Te Tiriti is true- it was that and more..

So many people came together and I loved seeing many faces like mine, not just Māori faces, but Māori photographers, videographers, cinematographers, filmmakers, and journalists and all other Māori in media. Seeing my people directly also made me feel proud.

Anyway, about the photos:

The intent of these photos was to show the movement; literally and symbolically. I didn't want many faces too clear because when you stand as one, and embody kotahitanga, you are no longer just yourself, you are a collective - no single face is the subject, it is all of the faces. The movement of the movement..
