Sorry I've missing in action for a while... life has been craaaaazy busy the last month.
A new business venture has taken flight for us and I'm sooo proud of the mahi my business partner and I have put into it 💖
The new mahi is Rainbow Tribe Kids Care before, afterschool care and holiday programme. We ran our Maori Arts and Culture Holiday Programme during the school holidays and it was a huge success 🎉🥳 we were sooo overwhelmed by the community support, our friends and whanau who awhi during the 2 weeks and all our new Rainbow Tribe Kids and whanau who enrolled into the programme ❤ Kīhini Queens ran a day of cooking classes with the Rainbow Tribe Kids in the first week of the holidays and they were an awesome bunch of bakers 👩🍳🥰 we look forward to running more workshops like these next holidays.
Also besides the new mahi adventures, all those last minute details and additions to my tender submission for next terms Free Healthy Lunches In Schools programme contracts, we hear back from MOE next week so fingers and toes crossed🤞..time is just flying il tell ya, you blink and a month is gone 🤯
Anyways back to the lunches 😂 we are running our Takurua Menu at TWTOP this term (Term 3). All those hot meals the kids enjoy and love, all suitable for our random weather we've been having in the BOP. We have made some sliiiight, tiny, minuuuuute 🤏 adjustments to this menu to fit into the MOE requirements and guidelines, but no dramatic changes to our menu WE know works for our tamariki at TWTOP. We did slowly start incorporating the changes last term, with the kids barely noticing the difference 👌🤭, so we know the kids are definitely ready for the change now.
First week of the term they had:
Pumpkin soup and wholemeal bread rolls, Chicken fettuccine, Filled rolls, Lasagne, Sea dogs and a range of fruit, yogurt, crackers, vege sticks and muffins.
This week they had a short week due to Kura a iwi hui. So they had:
Chicken soup and wholemeal bread rolls, wraps, nachos, a range of fruit and yogurt.
Nachos is usually an end of the week treat (Friday lunches) but because they had a short week we adjusted the menu so they could finish out with something yummmmmy 🤤 they were extremely happy with the change 🥳😊
