I was inspired to start a new mosaic project today - a mirror frame. The design is based on a folk art painting with my favourite colours RED, navy, turquoise and a warm peachy beige.

So to support all the single mums in our community and with the help of Creative Communities Christchurch NZ we are offering 3 art courses just for solo mums.

During term 1 we will host 3 painting classes, 3 pottery classes, and 3 printing classes on Wednesday mornings in Christchurch, NZ. Only $20 per course. All materials included.

What a beautiful way to start this year, learn a new skill, and meet new friends.

This Christmas why not invest in an experience rather than another toy? In the last week of January, we will run kid's art workshops each day. Our classes are aimed at kids aged 5 - 14. There will be a variety of projects including mosaics, woodland creatures, a portrait made out of recycled materials and a fairy house.

Big smiles and big wreaths at last night's Thrive church girls night.

It was so much fun watching everyone get drawn in by the magic of making something with your own hands. The enthusiasm, the focus, and the sweet relief on their faces when it all came together in the end.

When I was a little girl, if I wasn't sure what to draw, I would draw fruit. Still an easy choice when you just want to push some paint around on a canvas.
