Esme and Sophie didn’t arrive at this moment by chance.

Long before the applause, before the recognition, before their names were spoken alongside “NYPA nominee,” there were quiet studios, early mornings, and long evenings where no one was watching. Just the two of them, chasing something bigger than a result.

They learned early that talent might open the door, but it’s work that keeps you in the room.

There were the hours with their teachers: listening, refining, being pushed beyond what felt comfortable. Corrections repeated again and again, not because they weren’t good enough… but because they could be even better. Every note was taken seriously, every rehearsal a chance to grow.

But what truly set Esme and Sophie apart happened outside of those scheduled hours.

It was the extra run-throughs when they were already tired.
The moments of self-correction in front of the mirror.
The decision to go again… and again… until it felt right.

They held themselves to a standard that no one else could enforce.

And it wasn’t always smooth.

Both of them faced setbacks! Moments that could have made it easier to step back, to doubt, to question whether it was all worth it. Attempts, frustrations, days where progress felt slow or invisible. But instead of stopping, they adapted. They showed up differently, but they still showed up.

Because resilience isn’t loud.
It’s quiet. Consistent. Unwavering.

It’s choosing to continue when things don’t go your way.

What carried them through wasn’t just discipline, it was love. A genuine, undeniable love for the art. The kind of passion that makes hard work feel necessary, not forced. The kind that turns repetition into purpose.

And when you combine resilience, passion, and relentless work… something powerful happens.

You earn moments like this.

Their NYPA nominations are not just an achievement, they are a reflection. Of every unseen hour, every challenge overcome, every choice to keep going when it would have been easier not to.

Esme and Sophie didn’t just hope for this.

They built it.

And this is only the beginning.
