Home of the Inglewood United RFC, Inglewood and Taranaki Athletics, the stadium has also played host to Mitre 10 Cup 2020, Ranfurly Shield matches, the Colgate Games and the FIFA U20 World Cup training. A new plaque has been added at TET Stadium & Events Centre, recognising the generous donation of timber seating from the Wackrow family in memory of Kelvin and Nina Wackrow.

This timber has been crafted into new seating, replacing the old blue chairs that had served their time. The seats will provide young athletes with a safe and dry place to store their gear while they train and compete on our all-weather track.

We’d like to acknowledge Tiny Austin at Headstones Taranakifor donating the plaque, Nick Jones for creating the custom brackets, and Doc for his work on installation and painting. Your support and craftsmanship have made this project possible.

These seats are not only practical but also a lasting tribute, ensuring the Wackrow family’s contribution continues to support our community well into the future.

🎤 Megan Read, wife of the late Norman Read - Olympian and the original driver behind the vision for an all-weather track, which began as a New Plymouth project - joins us to share some of her memories. In this short clip, she reflects on those early days and the journey that eventually brought the track to Inglewood.
