Have you ever wanted to own a part of Toitoi's history? Now is your chance.

10 years ago, on our centenary, our Opera House's doors were closed for earthquake strengthening. To mark the occasion we commissioned local artists to create work that reflected a decade in our history. This artwork was then displayed around the fencing during construction.

Now, for our 110 year anniversary, we're auctioning off those original artworks, from artists like Freeman White, John Eaden, Kate Mackenzie, Mauricio Benega, Cinzah Merkens, Jo Blogg , Timo Rannali and the late Fane Flaws.

Join us on October 31st to purchase your own part of history. Find out more and register on our website.

Join the Readers and Writers Festival as Catherine Robertson interviews two high-profile New Zealand journalists as they turn the spotlight on their own lives. Alison Mau’s memoir No Words for This, “an inspiring, honest and intimate memoir”, delves into the darkness in her own family. Diana Wichtel’s book Unreal: a life in review has been described as “sharply funny, wise and profound” - another story about a family, running parallel to what we were watching on the telly.
