I'll be in Auckland this Saturday attending HYVE, a Christian Business event. I was the keynote speaker at a HYVE event in NSW Ausrtala a few years ago, and this weekend I've been invited to give a 5-min segment about Faith&Biz.

I'm attempting to only mention a few keypoints so that other faith-led business owners might feel like they belong here with an invitation to join us.

I'm putting together a powerpoint - with only 5 minutes, I'm keeing it to about 5 or 6 slides. It's a challange as I can wafflle if I don't give myself boundries. lol - but I also rather like winging it, so maybe I do it to myself!

I really enjoy speaking in front of an audience.

I'd appreicate your prayer, as I've got a client project taking the lion's share of my week to meet a deadline and only a short a window to get some powerpoints set up.

The more I’ve been building The Founders Table Experience, the more I’ve realised this isn’t just about creating another business event.

It’s about creating a space we’ve been missing.

Because I keep coming back to this —
not everything in business needs to be louder, faster, or bigger.

Sometimes what we actually need is a table.

A place where faith-led entrepreneurs can come together and speak honestly about what’s really going on in business — not just the highlights, but the journey.

A place to be encouraged, supported, and reminded that we’re not doing this alone.

I’ve been self-employed for over 15 years, and across that time — working alongside entrepreneurs and ministries around the world — I’ve seen how easy it is to carry business in isolation, even when you’re doing meaningful work.

And I’ve felt that too.

So this experience in Hamilton is really the unfolding of that gap being filled.

While we would have loved to have more entrepreneurs around the table, we started our recent Founders Table connection circle with just four — and it turned out to be perfect for building genuine rapport. The small group gave us the space to relax, get acquainted, and dive deeply into what we do, asking and answering questions without feeling rushed.

Inviting the Lord to join and lead our conversation, what unfolded was natural, easy, supportive, and incredibly collaborative over nearly two hours together.

Networking like this is so much more valuable because of its holy-istic nature. We all left feeling a surge of encouragement and inspiration, enriched by the practical advice, prayers, and ideas shared around the needs each of us brought to the table.

We had an unexpected aha moment on a call today…

The reason we feel so drawn to small, intimate gatherings and working alongside entrepreneurs and small business owners isn’t because we can’t go bigger.

It’s because we’re not called to.
For us, it’s depth over width.

Every time.

Not everyone is wired this way—and that’s okay.

But we know this is our lane.

Small doesn’t mean less.
It means intentional.
It means seen.
It means transformation.

And we've embraced that call!
