Waikato A&P Show Announces Reduced Equestrian Programme for 2026
The Waikato A&P Show wishes to advise exhibitors, competitors and the wider equestrian community that the 2026 Equestrian Section will operate on a reduced programme.
With Equifest being held just 14 days prior to the Waikato A&P Show, we are taking a cautious approach to ensure the grounds are given the best opportunity to recover and remain suitable for both horses and competitors.
While the equestrian programme will be reduced, we are still excited to offer a fantastic range of classes, including:
• Full RAS sections – Horse, Pony & Lead Rein / First Year Ridden
• Hunter Jumping Horses
• Golden Horse – Led & Ridden
• Standardbred – Led & Ridden
• Shetland – Led
• Arab – Led & Ridden
• Harness
• Pleasure Horse
• Pleasure Pony
Our full schedule will be released soon, with further details on classes, times and entries to follow.
We understand how much our equestrian competitors look forward to the Waikato A&P Show, and while this year’s programme may look a little different, we are committed to providing a quality and enjoyable experience for exhibitors and spectators.
And there’s more exciting news!
We are thrilled to confirm that our incredibly successful All Breeds Show will definitely be returning in April 2027! 🎉
The All Breeds Show has become a much-loved event on the equestrian calendar, and we are incredibly excited to bring it back bigger and better in 2027.
We look forward to welcoming our equestrian community to the Waikato A&P Show and sharing more information about both events soon.
