Malabar Petals

Malabar Petals Sisters with a passion for flowers οΏ½

The creation of our dried flowers:
- All our creations are handmade by Claire and Jen
- Our collections use both new and recycled material
- Wherever possible we will use natural or recycled materials

Caring for your dried flowers:
- They like to be kept dry and out of direct sunlight.
- They know your dried flowers will last up to 2 years - but with the right care they could a whole lot longer.

- Dried flowers are very fragile, please be mindful of this when you are picking them up or moving them.

Evening everyone,

We just wanted to give an update on here about what is happening in our lives.
We are going to be taking a wee break from Malabar Petals, as Claire is expecting a baby in September and Jen is off on an adventure to the South Island.
We have some amazing dried goodies all ready to go and we wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a workshop with us on the weekend of 5/6th June. The workshop would be to make your own wreath, wall-hanger or dried arrangement in a pot.
Please comment below if this is something you would love to do, depending on numbers we will make it happen πŸ™‚

*SNEAK PEEK*

We have been busy bees over here creating some dream catchers, with a touch of our dried goodies. They will be available to purchase very soon. Private message if interested as we have a limited amount available.

The meaning of dreamcatchers and the beliefs surrounding their construction originate from Native American cultures. The dreamcatcher is a protective talisman that is used to protect people from nightmares and bad dreams. The charm was usually used for young children and hung above their cradles or beds. Native American cultures believe that both good and bad dreams fill the air at night. The dreamcatcher acts like a spider's web by trapping the bad dreams or visions while allowing the good ones to filter through. The bad dreams caught in the web get destroyed when the sunlight of morning hits the dreamcatcher, while the good dreams filter down through the feathers and gently reach the sleeping person below.

Our dream catchers are not traditional dream catchers as such, but our collection was inspired by them and are our own personal take on dream catchers πŸ’›πŸ˜΄πŸ•Έ
