A story about Hazel Hayes Catering - How it started and what it is now.
Originally founded by Brad, who lovingly named the business after his grandmother, Hazel Hayes began as a small catering operation built on heart, quality, and a passion for good food. Over the years, it changed hands several times, eventually growing into multiple cafés across central Hamilton and expanding into a well-established catering business.
In 2023, a new connection sparked a fresh beginning. The head chef from Hazel Hayes joined our team at Zenders Café & Venue, and soon after, the opportunity arose for us to officially welcome Hazel Hayes Catering into the Zenders family.
It was the perfect fit. Merging Zenders’ warm, heritage-inspired venue and café with Hazel Hayes’ strong out-catering roots. We were also fortunate to gain two talented chefs from the Hazel Hayes team, who bought their skills and experience to our shared kitchen. This continuity means the care, flavour, and quality from Hazel Hayes lives on now with even more heart behind it.
Today, Hazel Hayes Catering continues to grow under the Zenders umbrella, led by our Catering Manager Sam and grounded in the same love for food, people, and community.
